Noi Bai International Airport manages rising passenger and cargo volumes

Noi Bai International Airport is managing high volumes of passengers and cargo following the National Day holiday. According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the airport ranks first in the country for import-export cargo volume and second for passenger traffic. Trade and passenger activities have seen an annual growth rate of approximately 15% to 17%.

Customs authorities at the airport are focusing on risk-based management to balance efficient clearance for legitimate trade with strict controls against smuggling and fraud. To improve the passenger experience, the airport has also implemented new organizational measures, including dedicated immigration lanes for Vietnamese citizens at Terminal T2. Additionally, LED displays in the immigration area now feature personalized greetings, such as ‘Welcome to Vietnam’ for international travelers and ‘Mừng bạn về nhà’ (Welcome home) for returning Vietnamese citizens.
