Noida child dies after falling into open water tank in sector 123
A four‑year‑old boy, identified as Firoz Alam (nicknamed Golu), son of Murajuddin from Sitapur district, fell into an uncovered water tank/pump in the green‑belt area of sector 123, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, while fetching water. He was rescued but later declared dead at a hospital.
The incident occurred without any Noida Authority staff present at the site. The child's family has accused the authority of negligence and demanded safety measures for open pits and water sources. The local police have registered an FIR, begun an investigation, and are examining the security arrangements at the location. The tragedy has revived concerns after a similar fatal accident in Greater Noida earlier in July, prompting calls for covering open pits and water tanks in public areas.
