Noida: Software engineer dies after jumping from Supernova Spira Tower

A 29-year-old software engineer, identified as Sambhav Jain, died by suicide after jumping from the 43rd floor of the Supernova Spira Tower in Sector 94, Noida, on Saturday.

Jain, a resident of Manesar in the Gurugram district of Haryana, had reportedly checked into an Airbnb within the complex for a one-day stay. Witnesses and video footage captured the moment Jain stood on the balcony railing before falling. Bystanders, including an air-conditioning mechanic, attempted to intervene and persuade him to step back, but they were unsuccessful.

Preliminary investigations by the Noida Police suggest Jain was experiencing severe mental stress due to financial difficulties, including debt and marital issues. A video recorded by Jain on his mobile phone prior to the incident reportedly mentioned his distress regarding debt. Forensic teams and police have collected evidence from the scene, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
