Noida police arrest criminal following shootout

Police in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a suspect identified as Shivam, also known as Shubham Rajput, following an encounter in Sector 63. According to officials, the incident occurred on the night of October 14 near the Garhi Gol Chakkar checkpoint.

Officers reported that the suspect approached on a black motorcycle lacking a number plate. When signaled to stop, the individual attempted to flee, causing the motorcycle to skid and fall. The suspect then allegedly opened fire on the police team, prompting retaliatory fire that struck him in the leg.

Authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle and a .315-bore country-made pistol along with cartridges. A background check revealed that the 28-year-old suspect is implicated in approximately 16 criminal cases across the National Capital Region (NCR). The suspect was taken into custody and admitted to a hospital for treatment.
