Noida police arrest members of mobile and chain snatching gangs

Police in Noida have dismantled two separate gangs involved in mobile and chain snatching operations across the Delhi-NCR region.

In one operation, Sector-20 police arrested three individuals—Ashu Kumar, Mannu Kumar, and Naved Khan—following intelligence and electronic surveillance. The group used stolen motorcycles to target pedestrians. Authorities recovered 14 stolen mobile phones, two motorcycles, tools for breaking locks, cash, and illegal knives. The gang operated by snatching phones and passing them to Naved Khan, who allegedly sold the devices and parts through his mobile repair shop.

In a second operation, Expressway police arrested two suspects, Sumit and Sumit Valmiki, in Sector-168. This gang specialized in snatching both mobile phones and gold chains from commuters. Police seized three mobile phones, two chains, a motorcycle, cash, and illegal weapons, including a .315 bore pistol and ammunition. The suspects admitted to targeting various areas in the NCR over the past few months to sell stolen goods for personal use.
