Noida priest rescued after being held hostage for ransom in Jaunpur

Police in Noida have rescued a priest, Anil Kumar Tiwari, who was held hostage in Jaunpur by individuals claiming their wishes were not fulfilled following a religious ritual he performed.

The suspects, identified as Ashish Yadav (alias Baba) and Pravesh Yadav (alias Gore), allegedly lured Tiwari back to Jaunpur under the pretext of refunding ritual expenses. Once there, they detained him and demanded a ransom of one lakh rupees from his son.

Following a report filed by the victim's family at the Sector 113 police station, authorities used electronic surveillance to track the suspects to the Mukia Market area in Jaunpur. During the operation, police arrested both men and recovered a .315 bore pistol, two live cartridges, and a knife. The priest was recovered safely and the suspects have been sent to jail.
