Nok Air suspends three Thai routes due to rising fuel costs

Nok Air, a low-cost carrier, has announced the temporary suspension of three domestic routes connecting Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport to southern Thailand. The affected routes are Don Mueang to Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Hat Yai.

The suspension is scheduled to run from October 27 to December 20, 2026. CEO Wutthiphum Jurangkool cited extremely high aviation fuel prices as the primary reason for the decision, noting that the airline is under significant cost pressure. To optimize operations, the airline plans to reallocate aircraft to other routes, including planned expansions and additional flights to India.

Passengers with existing bookings for the affected routes are entitled to full refunds, though the airline warns that processing times may take between 45 and 90 days. Travelers who booked through travel agencies may choose between a full refund or alternative flight arrangements departing from Krabi province.
