Nokia 123 Shield feature phone offers 19‑day standby and IP65 ruggedness

HMD Global has introduced the Nokia 123 Shield, a low‑cost 2G feature phone designed for rugged outdoor use. The device carries an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, a 2.4‑inch QVGA display, a removable 1,750 mAh battery that provides up to 19 days of standby and 27.9 hours of talk time, and basic connectivity such as USB‑C charging, a 3.5 mm audio jack, dual‑SIM support and FM radio. Internally it runs on a Unisoc SC6531E chipset with 4 MB of RAM, 4 MB of storage (expandable via microSD up to 32 GB), and includes a 300‑percent‑brighter LED flash compared with the Nokia 110.

The phone is marketed as the most affordable rugged feature phone, targeting users who need durable devices for harsh environments. Pricing has not been officially announced worldwide, but early listings show a price of about €35 in Bulgaria and €40 in Greece. HMD Global also hinted at a forthcoming return of the Nokia Asha brand with higher‑spec models.
