Nokia becomes Finland's second most popular stock

Nokia has emerged as the second most popular stock in Finland among individual investors during the July–September period, according to statistics from the Foundation for Share Capital. The technology company gained 13,000 new private investors, surpassing the asset management firm Mandatum in terms of ownership numbers.

Sari Lounasmeri, CEO of the Foundation for Share Capital, attributed Nokia's rising popularity to the artificial intelligence boom. She noted that Nokia is increasingly profiling itself as an AI-related company through its cooperation with chipmaker Nvidia, specifically regarding telecommunications connections and equipment for data centers.

Other notable shifts in investor interest included Wärtsilä, which gained over 6,000 new owners due to its success in data center projects, and telecommunications company Elisa. Nordea maintained its position as the most popular stock in Finland, with nearly 340,000 individual investors by the end of September. Conversely, Finnair, Nokian Renkaat, and Qt saw the largest declines in individual ownership, largely as long-term investors took profits.
