Nolan's 'Odyssey' employs real-time pig‑turning effect without CGI

Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film "Odyssey" features a striking practical effect in which soldiers are turned into pigs. Actress Samantha Morton, playing the witch Syse, works with a mechanically animated pig model that is manipulated on set, allowing the transformation to be captured directly on camera without computer‑generated imagery. The effect combines physical props, clever editing and camera angles, and the crew built a movable pig head that Morton could handle herself.

Tom Holland, also starring in "Odyssey," promoted the movie alongside his new Spider‑Man release, describing the promotional tour as a "victory lap." He referenced his personal life, calling Zendaya his wife during a podcast interview. Both actors highlighted the film’s blend of practical craftsmanship and modern storytelling.
