NOMUS music festival to begin in Novi Sad on October 18

The Novi Sad Music Festival (NOMUS) is scheduled to begin on October 18, featuring five concerts held at the Synagogue and the Serbian National Theatre. The festival will showcase a diverse program including symphonic music, contemporary piano compositions, jazz-classical fusion, and Broadway musical arrangements.

The event opens with the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Aleksandar Marković, featuring Russian cellist Ivan Sendecki. The program will bridge 20th-century works by composers such as Dmitri Shostakovich and Igor Stravinsky with contemporary pieces by local authors like Aleksandra Vrebalov and Veljko Nenadić.

Other scheduled performances include a set by German pianist Luka Šestak on October 19, and pianist Nataša Penezić on October 20, which will feature several world premiere compositions. The festival concludes on October 25, with a special Broadway-themed project performed by the Novi Sad Big Band on October 23.
