Nonghyup faces financial accidents and NH Investment & Securities stock volatility

Nonghyup has faced significant financial instability, with lawmaker Kim Sun-kyo reporting that 328 financial accidents totaling approximately 236.8 billion won occurred over the past five years. Within the agricultural and livestock cooperatives, 87.6% of the losses from these incidents remain unrecovered. Major types of misconduct included breach of trust, fraud, and embezzlement.

Separately, NH Investment & Securities is seeing its stock price trade roughly 16% below the issuance price of a recent 400 billion won rights offering conducted by its largest shareholder, NH Nonghyup Financial Group. Despite recording record net profits in the first half of the year, the company faces market concerns regarding declining trading volumes and rising interest rates. While some analysts have lowered price targets due to expected earnings slowdowns, others maintain optimistic outlooks based on the company's high dividend yield and potential for shareholder returns.
