Nono announces return to stage with Antananarivo concerts

Malagasy singer and saxophonist Roland Rakotondrainibe, known professionally as Nono, is returning to the stage in Antananarivo after a nearly ten-year absence. The concerts are scheduled for September 6 at 3:00 PM at CCESCA Antanimena and September 11 at 7:00 PM at the Havoria Anosy Auditorium.

Nono stated that the decision to perform was largely driven by years of requests from his fans. The shows will feature his classic hits, such as ‘Bedy foana’, ‘Io fitiavana io ihany’, and ‘Hoy ianao’. The artist noted that his performances are heavily influenced by emotion and may vary between the two dates based on audience interaction.

To support his return, Nono has selected a group of five young musicians, including a bassist, a guitarist, two keyboardists, and a drummer. He expressed a desire to mentor the next generation of Malagasy artists by providing them with stage opportunities, a luxury he noted was less available during his early career. The events are organized by Event Art Culture.
