Nonsan and Dangjin cities win awards for administrative innovation

Nonsan City and Dangjin City were recognized for their innovative administrative practices at the 2026 Chungcheongnam-do Active Administration Excellence Case Competition.

Nonsan City received the Grand Prize for a project led by official Park Eun-young, which utilized an internally developed automated Excel template to analyze electricity usage data across 1,100 public facilities. By identifying errors in contract types and power usage, the initiative is expected to reduce unnecessary expenditures by approximately 126 million KRW annually, totaling about 630 million KRW over five years.

Dangjin City earned both the Excellence Award and the Superior Award. The Excellence Award was granted for a land management project that corrected land categories for unregistered customary houses built before 1973, helping approximately 490 households secure property rights after 50 years. The Superior Award recognized a proactive consulting service for small business owners, which provides integrated inspections for hygiene, construction, and tax compliance to prevent administrative penalties and costly reconstruction.
