Noor Solar Power Project Fund launches subscription in Iran

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) has launched the subscription process for the ‘Noor’ solar power project fund. This initiative aims to connect public capital with the development of national electricity production infrastructure through the energy exchange.

The fund encompasses a collection of 106 solar power plants with a total capacity of approximately 500 megawatts. These projects are distributed across multiple provinces, including Khuzestan, Bushehr, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil, and Sistan and Baluchestan. According to SATBA, 253 megawatts are already connected to the grid or nearing connection, with full integration expected by late 2026.

The total estimated cost for these projects is approximately 26 trillion tomans. In the initial phase, a public subscription of up to 5 trillion tomans will be made available to individual and legal investors. Many of the projects have already reached approximately 65 percent physical progress, with some plants already producing and selling electricity.
