Noorderzon Festival attracts over 150,000 visitors in Groningen

The 36th edition of the Noorderzon Festival of Performing Arts & Society has concluded in Groningen, attracting over 150,000 visitors. Despite rainy weather, ticket sales increased by 7 percent compared to previous years.

The festival featured a redesigned layout in the Noorderplantsoen park, including new stages such as ‘De Kraken’, a central meeting point with a floating stage. The program included international performing arts, lectures, literature, and music, featuring creators from fourteen different countries.

To maintain the festival grounds, a dedicated cleaning crew of volunteers worked daily. This included individuals using the opportunity to practice Dutch while ensuring the park remained clean for attendees.
