Nora EV launches Metro electric MPV in Pakistan
Pakistani automaker Nora EV has launched the Metro, an affordable electric MPV designed with aesthetic influences from luxury models like the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Despite its premium appearance, the Metro is a subcompact vehicle measuring 3,900 mm in length and featuring 14-inch wheels.
The vehicle is powered by a 4,000-watt rear electric motor, producing approximately 5 horsepower. Customers can choose from three Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery options: 9 kWh, 15 kWh, and 23.1 kWh. The largest battery provides an estimated range of 250 to 300 kilometers. Additionally, Nora EV offers a range extender option consisting of a 3-liter fuel tank and a small generator, which can add an extra 150 to 180 kilometers of range.
Founded in 2025 by Nousheen Azhar and Ali Raza, Nora EV utilizes a Chinese-sourced chassis that has been modified for South Asian road conditions. The company aims to localize production by manufacturing body components and lighting assemblies within Pakistan. To support the new model, the company is also planning a network of battery-swapping stations.
