Nora Fatehi's 'Siir Siir' tops FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony and YouTube charts

Indian‑born performer Nora Fatehi headlined the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony in Toronto, delivering a high‑energy rendition of the official anthem "Siir Siir" alongside Vegedream and producer Sanjoy. The performance was part of a broader star‑studded celebration that also included artists such as Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Michael Bublé and William Prince.

Within 24 hours of its release, the "Siir Siir" video amassed over 20 million views on YouTube, surpassing the first‑day view count of Shakira’s FIFA anthem "Dai Dai" (8.2 million). The song’s blend of Arabic, English, French and Moroccan Darija has been credited with its rapid global traction. Parallel opening events were staged in Los Angeles, where Katy Perry performed with Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla, and in Mexico City, where Shakira and Burn Boy presented "Dai Dai".

Fatehi described "Siir Siir" as a celebration of her multicultural roots—Moroccan, Canadian and Indian—while fans worldwide praised the performance and the anthem’s upbeat vibe.
