Norbert Rier discusses health recovery and new Kastelruther Spatzen album

Norbert Rier, singer for the Kastelruther Spatzen, has shared updates regarding his health and the band's upcoming project, “Hollywood in Kastelruth”. Following a minor stroke in July 2025 and subsequent heart valve surgery, Rier reported that he is recovering well under medical supervision. He noted that while he must manage his physical exertion more carefully and avoid alcohol, he has no intention of retiring from music.

The new album, titled “Hollywood in Kastelruth”, was chosen by the record label to draw attention, though Rier describes the music as a way to thank fans during the band's 40th anniversary Spatzenfest. Despite the glamorous title, Rier emphasized that the band aims to maintain their traditional sound and promote a sense of groundedness and normalcy amidst changing societal trends.
