NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship begins in Moncton

The 2026 NORCECA Men's Continental Championship begins in Moncton, Canada, featuring eight competing teams. The tournament serves as a critical pathway for international qualification, with the top three finishers earning spots in the 2027 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Cup in Poland. Additionally, the top four teams—excluding the United States, which has already secured an Olympic berth as the host of the Los Angeles 2028 Games—will advance to the NORCECA continental qualifying phase.

The competition is divided into two groups. Group A includes Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Curaçao, while Group B consists of the United States, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Guatemala. The United States enters as a favorite, holding the fifth world ranking position and ten continental titles. Cuba, the tournament's most successful team with 16 titles, remains a primary rival, alongside host nation Canada.
