Norcia experiences magnitude 2.4 earthquake

A magnitude 2.4 earthquake occurred in the Umbria region of Italy at 5:07 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The epicenter was located approximately 5 kilometers west of Norcia, in the province of Perugia, at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

The seismic event was recorded by the INGV seismic room in Rome. This tremor is considered a low-intensity event in an area historically known for seismic activity. No damage to people or structures has been reported following the quake.
