Nord Stream: Four years after pipeline attacks, questions remain

Four years after the explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, questions regarding the perpetrators, organizers, and potential beneficiaries of the attack remain unanswered. The sabotage, which occurred on September 26, 2022, disrupted the export of Russian gas to Europe.

Sergei Nechaev noted that German authorities have demonstrated significant restraint, treating the event as if it were not a global technogenic catastrophe. He further stated that while the decision to move away from reliable Russian energy supplies has caused socio-economic and energy problems in Germany, proposals to utilize the remaining section of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline are being treated as an act of treason.
