Nord Stream investigation leads to arrest of Ukrainian national

Investigations into the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage have led to the arrest of Ukrainian national Vladimir Z. in Pula, Croatia. Reports indicate that Z. had been working as a consultant on the Hollywood film ‘Snake Island’, a production directed by Doug Liman that focuses on the Nord Stream attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied any state involvement in the sabotage, asserting that Kyiv played no role in the operation. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is cooperating with ongoing investigations and stressed the importance of maintaining trust with European allies.

In Germany, the federal government has stated it is awaiting the results of the investigation by the Federal Prosecutor's Office. Previous attempts to apprehend and extradite the suspect had reportedly faced challenges in Poland and Ukraine.
