Norddeutscher Regatta Verein wins ninth sailing Bundesliga title

The Norddeutscher Regatta Verein (NRV) has secured its ninth German sailing club championship title following the final event of the Bundesliga season at Wannsee, Berlin. The Hamburg-based club entered the finale with an 11-point lead and maintained dominance despite challenging weather conditions, including rain and variable winds between 8 and 15 knots.

The winning crew consisted of Tobias Schadewaldt, Klaas Höpcke, Luisa Krüger, and Henrik Peters. This victory marks the seventh championship for helmsman Schadewaldt, the ninth for Höpcke, the fifth for Krüger, and the first for Peters. The NRV finished the season with 12 points, establishing a significant 23-point margin over the runner-up, Joersfelder Segel-Club.

Alongside the championship, the Deutsche Segel-Liga (DSL) announced plans for the 2027 season, including a new European league series and new partnerships, signaling a period of expansion for the sport.
