Nordex invests 70 million euros in Turkish wind energy

Nordex has invested 70 million euros in wind energy technology in Turkey. According to Ender Özatay, Vice President for Turkey and the Middle East at Nordex Group, the investment was funded entirely through the company's own resources without the use of loans or investment incentives.

The company is expanding its production and employment capacity through two factories in the Izmir region. Production has commenced at a new turbine factory in Menemen, which aims to produce 400 turbines annually. The facility currently employs 820 people, with a target of reaching 1,600 employees by the end of the year.

Additionally, preparations are underway for a second 80,000-square-meter facility in Aliağa. Building work for this site is complete, and production will begin once equipment is installed. Özatay noted that renewable energy tenders, specifically the YEKA and YEKDEM mechanisms, provide the long-term predictability necessary for continued investment in the Turkish market.
