Nordfyn volunteers launch bicycle safety program for children
Volunteers from the Cykellegekorps, part of the Cyklistforbundet, are launching an initiative in Nordfyn Municipality to improve bicycle safety among children. The program aims to encourage children to cycle to school independently rather than being driven by parents.
Through a concept of ‘bicycle games,’ volunteers lead exercises designed to make children more confident and safe on their bikes. The initiative is free for schools and daycare institutions to book. Five volunteers, including retired teacher Bent Olsen, have recently completed training in Veflinge. Project manager Tine Malm noted that the organization is actively seeking more volunteers, particularly seniors over the age of 60, to expand the program.
