Nordic companies join Nordic Compass Defence Track

Five major Nordic defence and technology companies—Ericsson, Kongsberg, Nokia, Patria, and Saab—have joined the Defence Track within Nordic Compass. This pan-regional industry round table aims to strengthen regional resilience and enhance European defence capabilities in response to a shifting security landscape.

As founding drivers of the track, these companies intend to leverage their diversified technological capabilities to meet increasing European defence needs. Jyri Häkämies, chair of the Nordic Compass Defence Track and former Finnish Defence Minister, noted that the commitment represents a significant strengthening of the alliance during a period of accelerated European defence efforts. The initiative seeks to utilize increased defence budgets to foster innovation within the Nordic sector while bolstering overall regional security.
