Nordic Council Film Prize announces six nominees

Six films have been nominated for the 2026 Nordic Council Film Prize, including five feature films and one documentary. The nominees were announced at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.

Among the nominees are Hlynur Pálmason’s ‘The Love That Remains’ from Iceland and Joachim Trier’s ‘Sentimental Value’ from Norway. Other selected works include ‘Beginnings’ from Denmark, ‘Birita’ from the Faroe Islands, ‘A Light That Never Goes Out’ from Finland, and ‘Kevlar Soul’ from Sweden.

The prize, which consists of DKK 300,000 shared between the director, screenwriter, and producer, will be awarded to a film or documentary produced in the Nordic countries that has been distributed in cinemas. The winner is scheduled to be announced on October 20.
