Nordic Resources increases Kopsa gold-equivalent resource to 1.52Moz

Nordic Resources has significantly increased the mineral resource estimate at its Kopsa gold-copper-silver deposit located in the Central Finland gold district. The updated estimate for the Kopsa project now stands at 44 million tonnes, containing 1.18 million ounces of gold, 71,000 tonnes of copper, and 3.5 million ounces of silver, totaling 1.52 million ounces of gold equivalent (AuEq).

The update incorporates 9,631 meters of diamond drilling completed through July and includes a maiden contribution of recoverable silver. This growth brings the company’s total resource inventory across the neighboring Kopsa, Kiimala Trend, and Hirsikangas projects to 55.2 million tonnes, or 1.93 million ounces of AuEq.

Managing director Rob Wrixon stated that Kopsa is evolving into a high-quality resource of significant scale. Approximately 86% of the Kopsa resource is now classified within the Measured and Indicated categories. The company is currently conducting a 12,000-meter step-out and infill drilling campaign to further expand the deposit and explore additional growth potential.
