Nordic Resources targets growth in Finnish gold sector
Nordic Resources is positioning itself for potential valuation growth as interest in Finnish gold assets increases. The company manages 1.23 million ounces of gold equivalent resources across three projects in Finland’s Middle Ostrobothnia Gold Belt.
A primary focus is the Kopsa deposit, which holds 815,000 ounces of gold equivalent resources. Managing Director Rob Wrixon noted that the company is currently undervalued compared to its peers and recent acquisitions in the region. Nordic Resources is currently conducting an extensive drilling program, with 10 kilometers completed and another 12 kilometers underway, and an interim resource update is expected soon.
The interest in Finland follows significant activity by Agnico Eagle, which has acquired several Finnish assets, including a US$2.1 billion acquisition of Rupert Resources. Finland was recently ranked as the top jurisdiction in the 2025 Fraser Institute Annual Survey of Mining Companies.
