NordPass and RoboForm compared for password security

A technical comparison between password managers NordPass and RoboForm highlights different approaches to digital security. NordPass utilizes the XChaCha20-Poly1305 algorithm alongside Argon2id to resist brute-force attacks. Its security framework is supported by external audits from Cure53 and compliance with ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2 standards.

RoboForm employs AES-256 encryption with PBKDF2-SHA256, performing one million iterations to secure the master key. While the service has faced historical challenges, such as a random number generator issue prior to 2015 and recent Android vulnerabilities, its zero-knowledge architecture has passed penetration tests by Secfault Security between 2023 and 2025. RoboForm is noted for additional features like secure notes and bookmark management.
