Norfolk reports 73% increase in dog-on-dog attacks

Reports of dog-on-dog attacks in Norfolk have increased by 73% compared to 2021 levels. Data obtained via a Freedom of Information request shows that 52 incidents were reported to the Norfolk Constabulary in 2025, up from 30 in 2021.

Experts suggest the rise in aggression may be linked to behavioral issues in puppies purchased during the pandemic, noting that many animals missed vital socialization opportunities. Some incidents have resulted in severe injuries requiring life-saving surgery and significant veterinary costs for owners.
