Norfolk State and South Carolina State prepare for MEAC matchups

Norfolk State University football is set to begin Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play this Saturday against South Carolina State. The Spartans, currently 4-3, will travel to Orangeburg, South Carolina, to face the two-time defending conference champions. Norfolk State enters the matchup following a bye week and a recent record-breaking homecoming performance against Virginia-Lynchburg.

In volleyball, Norfolk State is scheduled to play Morgan State in Baltimore, Maryland. The Spartans (7-14 overall, 3-5 MEAC) are looking to build momentum, led by Gabrielle Gilbert, who currently leads the MEAC in kills, points, and attack attempts.

Meanwhile, the South Carolina State women's volleyball team recently secured its first MEAC victory of the 2026 season. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Maryland Eastern Shore in a 3-0 sweep, improving their conference record to 1-7.
