Norfolk State volleyball loses five-set match to Chattanooga

The Norfolk State University volleyball team concluded its nonconference slate at the Radford Invitational with a five-set loss to Chattanooga. Despite taking the first two sets, the Spartans ultimately fell 3-2 with set scores of 15-25, 24-26, 28-26, 27-25, and 15-6.

During the tournament, senior Gabrielle Gilbert set new program records, becoming the all-time career points leader and the all-time career kills leader for Norfolk State. Gilbert’s career points reached 1,414.5, surpassing the previous record of 1,399.5 set in 2012. The team currently ranks second in Division I for service aces per set, averaging 2.70.
