Norgespris electricity scheme provides savings for most Norwegian households
The state-funded electricity scheme 'Norgespris' resulted in cost savings for most Norwegian households during the third quarter. According to data from Fjordkraft, an average detached house in the three southernmost price areas—East Norway (NO1), Southern Norway (NO2), and Western Norway (NO5)—saved over 1,400 NOK over the last three months.
Since the scheme's implementation on October 1, 2025, savings in these southern regions have approached 9,000 NOK. In Mid-Norway (NO3), detached houses saved nearly 1,300 NOK this summer and approximately 6,200 NOK since the program began. The scheme is most widely adopted in the southernmost price area, where participation has exceeded 78 percent of households.
However, the program did not provide savings in Northern Norway (NO4), where the scheme is not recommended. In the previous quarter, households and holiday home owners collectively saved over 3.9 billion NOK by using Norgespris instead of spot prices. The scheme offers a fixed price of 50 øre per kilowatt-hour, with price adjustments scheduled for the new year.
