Norm Fasteners acquires automotive manufacturing plant in Michigan

Norm Fasteners, a global fastener manufacturer, has acquired an automotive fastener manufacturing operation in Plymouth, Michigan. The acquisition includes a 121,000-square-foot manufacturing facility situated on a 9.4-acre site, along with its associated manufacturing assets.

The facility specializes in producing high-strength bolts for the automotive industry through processes such as cold forming, heat treatment, thread-rolling, sorting, and packaging. This new site will complement the company’s existing Michigan operations, which include a regional sales, engineering, logistics, and warehousing center in Lansing that has been active since 2019.

By integrating manufacturing with its established engineering and logistics capabilities in the state, Norm Fasteners aims to create an integrated North American hub. According to Vice Chairperson Nedim Uysal, the move is a step toward becoming a truly global manufacturer, allowing the company to respond more rapidly to customers in over 50 countries. The company cited Michigan’s concentration of automotive manufacturers, skilled workforce, and advanced supplier networks as key factors in the investment.
