Norma Piña warns of risks to Mexico's justice system

Norma Lucía Piña Hernández, the retired minister and first woman to preside over Mexico’s Supreme Court of Justice, has warned of “red flags” within the national justice system following the 2024 judicial reform.

Speaking at a forum organized by the Escuela Libre de Derecho, Piña Hernández stated that the restructuring of the Federal Judicial Power poses risks to investment, businesses, private property, and citizen liberty. She emphasized that economic stability depends on investment and employment, both of which are threatened if the legal framework becomes unstable.

Piña Hernández called on citizens to remain informed about current legal frameworks to defend their rights and assets against potential administrative or judicial arbitrariness.
