Norman Baker urges Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice to relinquish royal titles

Former Liberal Democrat minister Norman Baker has called on Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to choose between pursuing private careers or maintaining their royal duties. Speaking to GB News ahead of his book on royal finances, Baker argued that the York sisters should relinquish their HRH titles if they intend to work in the private sector, rather than maintaining one foot in the monarchy and one in private enterprise.

Baker praised Prince Harry for establishing a life outside the institution of the monarchy. The discussion regarding the princesses' roles comes alongside reports concerning Princess Eugenie’s relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. These reports follow an incident where a copy of Meghan Markle’s children’s book, ‘The Bench’, which had been a gift to Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, appeared for sale on eBay. Sources indicated that Eugenie personally apologized to Markle regarding the matter.
