Normando presents surrealist-inspired collection at SPFW

The fashion brand Normando, led by creative directors Marco Normando and Emídio Contente, debuted a new collection at São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW). The collection draws heavy inspiration from the surrealist works of Brazilian modernist artist Ismael Nery (1900–1934), particularly exploring themes of androgyny and the fusion of masculine and feminine representations.

The runway featured a mix of tailoring, shirt-making, and experimental silhouettes, including pieces that combined dresses with shirts and pleated skirts that transformed into trousers. The designs utilized various materials such as heavy cotton, wool, satin, and latex—the latter serving as a nod to the importance of rubber trees in the Pará region of the Amazon.

Notable attendees at the show included Rodrigo Hilbert and Fernanda Lima, who were present to support their son, João, during his runway appearance.
