Normandy highlights culinary awards and coastal tourism

The Normandy region of France continues to highlight its culinary and touristic appeal. In Honfleur, the restaurant L'Assiette normande has been honored by the Gault & Millau guide, receiving its first toque and a score of 12 out of 20.

Chef Morgan Socha was awarded the trophy for ‘cuisine de la mer, des lacs et des rivières’ (cuisine of the sea, lakes, and rivers) at a ceremony in Blonville-sur-Mer. The guide praised the establishment for its fresh, iodized cuisine, specifically noting the precision in cooking local seafood and the quality of its ingredients.

In the Calvados department, the seaside resort of Houlgate is also gaining attention as an alternative to more expensive neighboring stations like Deauville. Known for its preserved Belle Époque architecture, colorful villas, and tranquil atmosphere, Houlgate offers a more authentic and affordable coastal experience for visitors seeking calm and local charm.
