Norrøna to open adventure lodge on Andørja island in 2027

The Norwegian outdoor brand Norrøna has announced the opening of a new adventure lodge on the island of Andørja, scheduled for June 2027. Located in Northern Norway, the site is characterized by its mountainous terrain, featuring 20 peaks rising directly from the sea.

Designed in partnership with Dark Arkitekter, the lodge will repurpose a former basking shark research center originally operated by the University of Tromsø. The facility will include 15 prefabricated timber guest cabins, accommodating a maximum of 30 guests. To minimize environmental impact, the cabins will be shipped to the island and mounted on timber poles.

Amenities will include a restaurant serving local Arctic ingredients, a lounge, a bar, two wood-fired saunas, and a Norrøna shop. Guests will be transported from the Harstad/Narvik (Evenes) airport to the lodge via a custom-built 37-foot aluminum boat. This project serves as the first step in Norrøna’s ‘Arctic Voyage’ vision to create a network of lodges along the Norwegian coastline.
