Norse Atlantic Airways faces backlash over delayed compensation payments

Norse Atlantic Airways is facing criticism over delays in paying compensation to passengers. One family, led by Lene Hordnes, has been waiting for over 25,000 NOK following a significant flight delay in the summer of 2023. The delay occurred when a plane returning from Florida, USA, collided with an obstacle on a taxiway, damaging a wing.

Although the Norwegian Transport Complaints Board (Transportklagenemnda) ruled in favor of the family in September 2024, recommending compensation of 600 euros per person, the airline had not fulfilled the payment. Following media inquiries, Norse has since promised to pay the compensation. The airline continues to struggle with a backlog of hundreds of similar compensation claims.
