Norse Atlantic Airways signs capacity deal with Pakistan International Airlines
Norse Atlantic Airways has entered into an ACMI agreement with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to provide two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Under the terms of the contract, Norse will provide the aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance.
The partnership is expected to begin in early November and aims to increase long-distance capacity on routes between the United Kingdom and Pakistan. PIA CEO Amir Hayat noted that the agreement addresses strong demand for direct flights between the two nations.
This deal follows the termination of a previous partnership between Norse Atlantic and the Indian carrier IndiGo, which had originally involved six Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The PIA agreement allows Norse to reassign capacity that was previously slated for IndiGo. Financial terms and the specific duration of the contract have not been disclosed.
