Norsemont Mining expands Choquelimpie project to 9,048 hectares in Chile

Norsemont Mining Inc. announced a strategic expansion of its flagship Choquelimpie gold‑silver‑copper project in northern Chile. The company added 3,291 hectares of newly staked land, increasing the total project area to 9,048 hectares – a 57 % increase.

The new claims were selected based on ongoing geological interpretation and capture extensions of several known mineralised trends. They lie along existing access corridors, lowering exploration costs and shortening lead times for drilling. CEO Marc Levy said the geological team’s work continues to add value, with drilling ongoing and further results expected. Choquelimpie is a former producing mine with extensive infrastructure, including roads, power, water, camp facilities and a 3,000‑ton‑per‑day processing plant.
