Norsk Datasenterindustri disputes data center employment figures

Norsk Datasenterindustri (NDI) has criticized a recent report from Teknologirådet, claiming it provides an incomplete picture of employment within the data center sector. The industry organization argues that the report relies on outdated figures and fails to account for the significant growth and job creation among Norwegian suppliers.

NDI CEO Reynir Jóhannesson stated that the industry's impact should include not only direct employees but also the work provided to contractors, such as electricians, plumbers, and security firms. The organization is calling for greater transparency regarding the calculations used by Teknologirådet to ensure policymakers have an accurate understanding of the industry's economic ripple effects.
