Norsk Redaktørforening considers warning for editor Hans Rustad

The Norwegian Editors' Association (Norsk Redaktørforening) is considering issuing a formal warning to Hans Rustad, the editor of the right-wing website Document. The board has determined there may be grounds for a warning, suggesting Rustad may have acted in violation of the association's bylaws.

Rustad has been given two weeks to respond to the association's letter before the board makes a final decision. While a formal warning is being considered, the board has clarified that expulsion from the association is not currently on the table, as a formal warning must precede any potential exclusion.

Helge Nitteberg, the vice chairman of the association's board and editor-in-chief of Nordlys, expressed dissent regarding the severity of the proposed action, suggesting that strong criticism might suffice instead of a formal warning.
