South American forest fires impact Argentina, Ecuador, and Colombia

Multiple forest fires are currently impacting regions in Argentina, Ecuador, and Colombia.

In Misiones, Argentina, firefighters and provincial brigadiers are working to contain a fire in the Campo San Juan Federal Reserve. The blaze has affected approximately 25 hectares of brush and native forest, with an active fire front measuring about 200 meters.

In Quito, Ecuador, emergency services are responding to a large forest fire in the Mastodontes sector of Carcelén. The Quito Fire Department has deployed 45 personnel and a helicopter to manage three active fire lines, as strong winds and combustible material complicate containment efforts.

In Colombia, authorities have extinguished a major fire in Ábrego, Norte de Santander, which destroyed 3,000 hectares of vegetation and damaged local water networks and agricultural crops. Additionally, a fire in the Cerro Gordo sector of Yumbo has consumed over 120 hectares, prompting requests for aerial support.
