North Aegean Region hosts inaugural local products exhibition

The North Aegean Region hosted its inaugural exhibition, ‘North Aegean Products – Pioneering Paths in Production and Development,’ held from September 3 to 6, 2026, at the Georgios Kaloutas Exhibition Center. Part of the 5th Chios Festival, the event featured over 30 producers and entrepreneurs from across the islands, including Lesvos, Samos, Lemnos, and Ikaria.

Exhibited goods included olive oil, dairy products, wines, mastic products, honey, traditional pasta, and organic goods. The exhibition aimed to highlight the region's gastronomic wealth and provide a platform for local producers to connect with the public. During the opening, former Finance Minister and professor Christos Staikouras emphasized the importance of combining traditional knowledge with modern science and technology to increase the added value and competitiveness of island products.

Regional Governor Kostas Moutzouris proposed that next year's exhibition be held in the Municipal Garden of Chios city to further promote the area's productive identity.
