North African stock markets report gains in Tunis and Casablanca
Stock markets in Tunisia and Morocco showed positive movement in recent sessions. In Tunis, the Tunindex rose by 0.15% to 19,594.67 points. Notable activity included BNA, which saw a 3.39% increase, and SOTETEL, which rose 2.42%. SFBT reported a 9% increase in first-half profits to 185 MD, driven by a 6% growth in revenue.
In Casablanca, the MASI index gained 0.92% over the week of August 17 to 19, reaching 18,992.4 points. The MASI ESG index saw a more significant rise of 2.05%. Sectoral leaders included Mining (+4.98%) and Distribution (+3.93%), while the Holdings sector saw the largest decline at -3.47%. Trading volume exceeded 509.28 million dirhams, with Managem and Itissalat Al-Maghrib among the most active stocks.
