North American franchise associations sign internationalization agreement

Franchise associations from Mexico, the United States, and Canada have signed an agreement to promote the internationalization of brands and strengthen cooperation across North America. The pact establishes a permanent collaboration framework between the Asociación Mexicana de Franquicias (AMF), the International Franchise Association (IFA), and the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA).

The agreement focuses on training, research, and the exchange of best practices and projects. The three nations represent a massive economic sector, collectively hosting over 6,600 brands and one million points of sale, which generate more than nine million direct jobs.

AMF President Betsy Eslava Altamirano noted that the alliance aims to help companies understand and enter each other's markets, specifically helping Mexican brands prepare to compete in the U.S. and Canada. Data shared by the AMF indicates the U.S. market includes over 830,000 franchised establishments and contributes approximately $550 billion to its GDP, while Canada employs around two million people through its franchise sector.
